What is CBD?

CBD is short for cannabidiol, the main bioactive compound found in hemp and one of more than 100 phytocannabinoids produced by Cannabis sativa L.

CBD or cannabidiol is a phytocannabinoid produced by the Cannabis sativa L plant. This means that unlike the endocannabinoids synthesized inside of our body, CBD is found in hemp. Regarded for its various benefits, CBD interacts with our body’s endocannabinoid system. Research suggests that the major pathway for CBD’s actions is the inhibition of the breakdown of the endocannabinoid anandamide, just one of many endocannabinoids produced by our bodies and potentially impacted by CBD use.

Extraction Process, Cold organic Ethanol

Ned use a gentle and slow extraction method using food-grade organic ethanol at -40°F. They exclusively extract from hemp flowers, otherwise known as the “buds,” which are the most cannabinoid- and terpene-rich part of the hemp plant. After the cold extraction, the residual ethanol is gently lifted from the extract resulting in an incredibly aromatic, clean, and quality hemp oil.

Hemp is a variety of the Cannabis sativa L plant and refers to the non-intoxicating (less than 0.3% THC) strains. Does hemp oil contain CBD?

Hemp oil extracted from the stalks, leaves, and flowers of the hemp plant will contain CBD and is typically referred to as full spectrum hemp oil or cannabidiol oil. Hemp seed oil made from the seeds of the Cannabis sativa plant does not contain CBD or other cannabinoids.

CBD or cannabidiol is being studied for its varied health benefits.
