Unlike creams and serums, facial oils are often lighter in texture and absorb quickly, without leaving a greasy layer.

The Benefits of Facial Oil for Your Skin

Facial oils offer different benefits depending on the type of oil you choose. The main benefits include:

  • Hydration: Facial oils restore and maintain the skin’s moisture balance, especially for dry skin types.
  • Power supply: Oils are rich in vitamins such as vitamin E and A, which nourish the skin and help repair damaged skin cells.

How to use MORE Avocado oil or other facial oils

Cleanse your face thoroughly – Before applying MORE avocado oil, it is essential to cleanse your face thoroughly. This ensures that your skin is free of dirt, oil and makeup, so that the facial oil can penetrate optimally.

Apply the oil to a damp face – Facial oils work best when applied to slightly damp skin. Use a hydrating toner or spray, such as rosewater or lavender water, which will help prepare the skin and promote absorption of the oil.

Use the oil in the morning and/or evening – Facial oil can be used both morning and evening, depending on your skin needs. In the morning it provides protection against external influences, while in the evening it nourishes and repairs the skin while you sleep.

Use a few drops – A few drops of facial oil are usually enough to cover your face. Apply the oil to your fingertips and gently massage it into your face in upward motions. This stimulates the blood circulation and helps the oil to absorb better.

Avoid too much oil – Don’t use too much oil, especially if you have oily skin. Start with a small amount and add more if needed. The oil can be used daily as a skin oil and absorbs well. When the oil is too thick, a few drops can be mixed with some body lotion or body butter.

Is the oil used for the hair? Then distribute a few drops on towel-dried hair in the evening. Wrap the hair in a towel and wash it well the next morning.  For a shorter-lasting mask, the oil can be generously massaged into the hair and scalp. Leave on for 20 minutes and then wash the hair.

Why choose MORE

“Like many other women, I have long struggled with finding the right skin care routine for my skin. I’ve tried everything: from the trendiest to the most luxurious creams, masks and serums. As a young, busy woman living and working in an urban – and therefore polluted – environment, I noticed that my skin gradually needed more care. Because everything I tried was not a good match for my sensitive, impure and irritated skin, I went back to basics. My reasoning was: if I build my routine from basic ingredients, I burden my sensitive skin as little as possible with unnecessary additives such as fragrances, dyes, parabens, etc. and I learn what does work. I attach great importance to the origin and quality of my products. I only select the best ingredients, because I want your search for your perfect skincare routine to end with my products.” -Manisha

Benefits of MORE avocado oil for hair

  1. DEEP HYDRATION

Thanks to its unique composition, avocado oil deeply penetrates the hair fibre. It hydrates dry and brittle hair, making it softer and more manageable. Unlike some oils, it doesn’t leave a greasy film, making it an ideal option for hydration without weighing hair down.

  2. PROTECTION AGAINST ENVIRONMENTAL DAMAGE

Whether it’s pollution, UV rays, or the frequent use of heat styling tools, our hair is constantly exposed to damaging elements. Avocado oil forms a protective barrier around the hair fibre, preserving its integrity against external aggressors.

  3. FRIZZ REDUCTION

For those battling with frizz, avocado oil is a natural solution. Its light texture helps smooth the hair cuticles, resulting in sleeker, more disciplined locks.

  4. SPLIT END REPAIR

Split ends are a common problem, especially for those with long or chemically treated hair. Regular use of avocado oil helps prevent and repair this damage by strengthening the hair fibre.

“Wow, what a great oil. It doesn’t look at all like the processed oil you normally see in stores. This avocado oil looks very pure, it’s a bit greenish and a little thicker. It smells nice and works very well on my skin.” – MORE customer

Homemade avocado oil sugar scrub

It is nice to have a good scrub that leaves your skin feeling wonderfully soft. An avocado oil sugar scrub contains the ingredients to rid your skin of dead skin cells and provide rich nourishment at the same time. The scent elements in this scrub can be adjusted to your own preference. This way you can make a wonderfully rich scrub in no time that makes you summer-ready. Store the scrub in a sealable jar in a dry, dark place and enjoy it for months.

Please note: scrubs work well to remove dead skin cells, but do not do this more than twice a week. If you have sensitive skin, always first check whether the scrub will not irritate your skin.

Ingredients:

  • 50 ml avocado oil
  • 50 grams of raw (cane) sugar
  • Essential oil (e.g. lavender and lemon)
  • Optional: dried lavender flowers

Mix the oil and sugar together until you have a smooth mixture. Add a few drops of essential oil. Mix everything and spoon the scrub into a sealable jar. Stir the dried lavender flowers into the scrub. In short, you can make a nice avocado oil sugar scrub at home in no time!

Avocado Oil Skin Benefits

Avocado oil offers several benefits for your skin, largely due to its rich content of fatty acids, vitamins, and antioxidants.

  • Hydration and Moisturising – Avocado oil is an excellent moisturiser. It contains oleic acid, a monounsaturated fatty acid that helps to deeply nourish and hydrate the skin. This makes it particularly effective for people with dry, rough, or flaky skin. By locking in moisture, it can help maintain the skin’s natural barrier and keep it feeling soft and supple.
  • Soothing and Calming – The anti-inflammatory properties of avocado oil can help calm and soothe irritated skin. It’s rich in vitamin E, which is known for its ability to reduce redness and inflammation. This makes it a gentle option for those with conditions like eczema, psoriasis, or general skin sensitivity
  • Anti-Aging Effects – Avocado oil is packed with antioxidants such as vitamin E and carotenoids. These compounds help to fight free radicals, which are a major cause of skin aging. Regular use can help to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles by promoting skin elasticity and collagen production
  • Promoting Healing – The oil can also support the skin’s healing process. Its emollient properties can help to soften and hydrate scarred tissue, while its vitamins and antioxidants may assist in the repair of damaged skin cells.
  • Sun Protection – While not a substitute for sunscreen, the antioxidants in avocado oil can offer a small degree of protection against sun damage. They work by neutralising the free radicals generated by UV exposure, helping to minimise the harmful effects of the sun on your skin.

Frequently Asked Questions

Avocado oil is derived from—you guessed it—an avocado.

Avocado has very, very high fiber, low sugar, and it has all the multivitamin cofactors that we need (potassium, sodium, magnesium, vitamins A, C, and K, folic acid, vitamin B6, and niacin). It also has a very strong antioxidant activity and a high concentration of monounsaturated fat. Avocado oil helps the skin in many ways and for that reason, you’ll find it in various masks, creams, and moisturizers.

Eczema and Psoriasis – The anti-inflammatory and moisturising properties can alleviate dryness, itching, and inflammation associated with these conditions.

Dry, Irritated Skin- It forms a protective barrier that locks in moisture, making it effective for very dry or chapped skin.

Sunburn – The antioxidants and anti-inflammatory compounds can help heal and soothe sun-damaged skin.

Acne – By reducing inflammation and providing essential nutrients, it may help calm acne-prone skin.

Avocado oil is generally thought to be non-comedogenic, meaning it is
less likely to clog pores.

On the comedogenic scale, which ranks how likely an ingredient is to clog pores, avocado oil is rated as a 3. This is a moderate score, meaning it’s less likely to cause issues than oils like coconut oil (4), but more likely than oils like hemp seed oil (0) or sunflower oil (1).

The reason it’s generally safe for most people is its fatty acid profile. It’s rich in oleic acid, a larger molecule that can be very nourishing for dry skin. However, for those with very oily or acne-prone skin, it may be a good idea to perform a patch test on a small area of your skin first

Avocado oil includes antioxidant ingredients like vitamins C and E. Antioxidants protect skin from the effects of free oxygen radicals. These unstable oxygen molecules can damage skin cells and contribute to the formation of skin hyperpigmentation

Applying avocado oil to your hair 2-3 times per week will help maintain your hair’s natural moisture, as well as build up strength from heated styling tools and abrasive weather conditions. This power-packed oil can also help restore lost moisture to starving strands when left on longer.

Distribute a nickel-size amount of avocado oil evenly through the ends of damp hair. You can also apply it once you’ve dried your hair. Avoid styling with heat unless the oil is completely dry. Run a dab of avocado oil through the tangled parts of your hair.
