Turmeric, coconut oil and honey are three of the most powerful anti-inflammatory and immune-boosting ingredients. Wunder Workshop have combined these organically sourced superfoods and added some organic black pepper to increase turmeric’s bio-availability and created Golden Turmeric Honey.
The deep yellow hue of turmeric comes from the curcumin in it which is also the source of a variety of healing properties. Curcumin is the main active ingredient in turmeric. Studies have shown that curcumin has great anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. It helps prevent brain and heart disease, tackle depression, prevent and reduce the spread of certain cancers and suppress pain from inflammation. It is also a very strong anti-oxidant which is why it is very good for the skin and it contains antiseptic, antibacterial, anti-fungal and anti-inflammatory properties which help it to treat wounds and allergies very easily!
Tropical forest honey is from Zambia, where the rich miombo forest provides an enormous diversity of forest trees and flowers, creating nutrient-dense honey. The beekeepers in the region use traditional methods, utilising only natural fibres to build the hives and skillfully collect the honey without the need for protection.
Honey has the power to fight infections without creating resistant bacterias like modern antibiotics. It is so potent that it should be the first method to be used when fighting infections. Many scientists have claimed that honey is more powerful than most of the conventional antibiotics. Honey can also be used to treat infections, cuts and wounds by applying on them directly. Honey can also be taken orally to treat health problems.
Wunder Workshop ethically source their organic turmeric and most of other ingredients directly from small community farms in Sri Lanka that use a sustainable farming technique called Forest Gardening, supporting Sri Lanka’s natural biodiversity, soil health, the farmers and the local community. Wunder Workshop also source ingredients that are wild-harvested (Fair Wild certified), growing in their natural habitat. They avoid mono-cultural farms wherever possible.
